Sourced from the sun-exposed and well-ventilated Ried Burgstall vineyard, located just east of Unterloiben, this Riesling Federspiel® is shaped by one of the most striking terroirs in the eastern Wachau. The vineyard lies on a distinctive 30-metre-high rock terrace composed of pure gneiss bedrock, covered by a light sandy topsoil. This combination delivers clarity, structure, and pronounced minerality to the wine.
On the nose, the wine reveals a concentrated and expressive bouquet, marked by ripe stone fruit—peach and apricot—enhanced with Mediterranean spice notes and a delicate hint of elderflower. The palate is both deep and vibrant, with multilayered fruit character and a refined texture. A lively acidity frames the wine, leading into a crisp, fruity finish that leaves a lasting impression.
With 12.5% vol. alcohol, this Riesling strikes a harmonious balance between tension and charm. A classic Federspiel style, it’s a perfect pairing for grilled seafood, mildly spiced Asian cuisine, or fresh goat cheese.
Ried Burgstall offers a textbook expression of Wachau Riesling—pure, precise, and full of energy.
