This robust and elegant Grüner Veltliner Smaragd® is crafted from hand-selected, fully ripe grapes sourced from the eastern Loiben vineyards of Hochstrasser, Kreutles, and Burgstall. The vines thrive on calcareous loess soils, which contribute both structure and finesse to the final blend. The grapes from these sites are harvested and vinified together, resulting in a harmonious and expressive wine.
In the glass, the wine displays a pale yellow-green hue. The nose is delicate yet inviting, with floral aromas of white blossoms layered over ripe apricot and subtle exotic fruit undertones. On the palate, it is juicy and well-balanced, showing fine stone fruit nuances supported by elegant, well-integrated acidity. The finish lingers with a soft impression of honeydew melon and a refreshing hint of citrus zest.
With 13.5% vol. alcohol, Ried NOMIS is a quintessential Wachau Smaragd—rich in texture, yet poised and refined. A wine of depth and character, ideal for pairing with richer dishes such as roasted poultry, grilled veal, or spicy vegetable preparations. It’s a testament to the precision and complexity that Grüner Veltliner can achieve when grown on premium loess soils in one of Austria’s most revered wine regions.
