Vino Joy News and IWSC Announce Strategic Partnership to Expand Wine and Spirits Insights

Vino Joy News and the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) have joined forces to provide the latest industry news, insights, and analysis to drinks brands, distributors, and professionals worldwide.

This collaboration comes at a time of significant growth in China’s wine sector, with both domestic production and imports on the rise.

China’s Wine Market: A Dynamic Landscape

In February 2025, Vino Joy News reported a remarkable 125% increase in Ningxia wine exports during 2024. Despite global economic challenges affecting wine sales, Chinese wines gained traction internationally. Simultaneously, imported wines saw renewed interest, particularly Australian wines, which surpassed French imports within a year following the removal of tariffs.

Consumer preferences in China are also evolving, with younger drinkers showing a growing interest in white wines. Germany has emerged as a key beneficiary, with an 8.34% increase in volume (4.66 million liters) and an 8.51% rise in value (USD 26.36 million), led by Riesling’s rising popularity.

Expanding IWSC’s Reach in China

For IWSC, this partnership coincides with its expanding footprint in China. Following a successful inaugural Chinese wine tasting in 2024, IWSC is set to return in 2025 to judge wines in Ningxia, further strengthening its engagement with China’s wine industry. Additionally, a dedicated spirits judging session will be launched in Sichuan, organized in collaboration with the Beijing International Wine and Spirit Exchange.

What This Partnership Offers

Starting this month, Vino Joy News highlights will be featured in IWSC’s monthly newsletter, bringing valuable insights to a global audience. IWSC medal winners interested in Asian markets will gain extra exposure through this collaboration. Furthermore, IWSC medalists will receive preferential rates on Vino Joy’s market intelligence reports, offering deep dives into China’s evolving drinks landscape.

Natalie Wang, founder of Vino Joy News, commented on the partnership: "The IWSC continues to set the global benchmark for wine and spirits judging, and we are absolutely thrilled to collaborate with such a prestigious organization. Through this partnership, we are excited to deliver high-quality coverage and provide the IWSC’s vast community with unparalleled insights into the dynamic wine and spirits markets of China and Asia."
