Vallepicciola Expands Globally: New Partnership with Edoardo Freddi International

Vallepicciola, one of the leading wineries in Chianti Classico, has taken a significant step toward international expansion by partnering with Edoardo Freddi International.

This strategic collaboration will see Edoardo Freddi International serving as Vallepicciola's export office, facilitating the distribution of its premium wines in key markets across Europe and Asia. With this partnership, the winery aims to strengthen its global presence, bringing the authenticity and tradition of Tuscan winemaking to an even wider audience.

The decision to collaborate with Edoardo Freddi International stems from a shared commitment to promoting high-quality, artisanal Italian wines beyond domestic borders. Edoardo Freddi International is renowned for its expertise in identifying market opportunities and forging commercial relationships with top importers and distributors worldwide. Vallepicciola's leadership, including Alberto Colombo and Alessandro Cellai, expressed enthusiasm for this partnership, recognizing it as a crucial milestone for the winery’s growth. Currently, Vallepicciola boasts an estate spanning 265 hectares, with 107 hectares dedicated to vineyards. The winery produces 500,000 bottles annually, covering 17 different labels, including Chianti Classico DOCG and IGT Toscana wines. 

Edoardo Freddi International, representing 62 of Italy’s top wineries, plays a pivotal role in bringing Italian winemaking excellence to the global stage. In 2024, the company generated over EUR 112 million in revenue, marking an 8.2% increase from the previous year. With more than 30 million bottles sold in key markets such as the USA, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Singapore, Japan, and Vietnam, Edoardo Freddi International has established itself as a powerhouse in the international wine trade.

This collaboration between Vallepicciola and Edoardo Freddi International is expected to further solidify Chianti Classico’s reputation worldwide, showcasing the timeless appeal of Tuscan wines to an expanding audience of discerning wine lovers.
