Strong Start: Georgian Wine Exports Up in First Two Months

In January-February 2024, Georgia exported wine valued at USD 47.6 million to 47 countries worldwide, representing a 38% increase compared to the same period of 2023.

The volume of exported wine stands at 16.7 million liters, reflecting a increase of 43% compared to the data of the reporting period of previous year.
The growth of exports is remarkable in the strategic market for Georgian wine - Poland, amounting to 27% (855.1 thousand liters). This positive trend of export growth has been observed this year, following a decline in the region over the past two years due to the crisis.

Stable growth rates have been consistently maintained in Germany, the most significant export market, with a growth rate of 4% equating to 153.3 thousand liters.
During the reporting period, significant growth was observed in strategic markets. Specifically, Estonia - 41% (50.6 thousand liters), Japan - 549% (27.7 thousand liters). Growth was also observed in such important markets as Ukraine - 27% (792.7 thousand liters), Canada - 472% (50.6 thousand liters), Israel - 37% (54.6 thousand liters) and etc.
In January-February 2024, a total of 6.3 million liters of alcoholic beverages, valued at USD 35.2mn, were exported to 31 countries worldwide. This represents a substantial increase of 48% in terms of quantity and 46% in revenue, compared to the same period of the previous year.
