Russia's Alcoholic Beverage Production Surges in Q1 2024

In the first quarter of 2024, Russia's alcoholic beverage industry witnessed remarkable growth, as reported by Rosalkogoltabakcontrol.

The data revealed a substantial surge in grape wine production, soaring by 25.8% to reach 7.125 million decaliters. This impressive increase was mirrored in the sparkling wine segment, which experienced a remarkable 42.7% rise, totaling 3.248 million decaliters, while liqueur wines also saw a substantial uptick of 36.4%, amounting to 379.5 thousand decaliters.

Meanwhile, vodka production showed resilience, increasing by 3.1% to 15.948 million deciliters, and cognac production witnessed a notable uptick of 6.5%, reaching 1.89 million decaliters.

In total, the alcohol industry expanded significantly, generating 42.707 million dal of alcohol-containing products, marking a noteworthy 17.3% increase compared to the previous year. This robust growth underscores the industry's adaptability and responsiveness to evolving market demands.

Moreover, the trend of domestic producers substituting reduced imports with domestic alternatives is poised to continue, reflecting a broader strategy aimed at bolstering domestic production and reducing reliance on external sources.
