Goedhuis Waddesdon Introduces New Suppliers to Its Portfolio

Fine wine company Goedhuis Waddesdon has unveiled its latest additions to the commercial portfolio following its merger last November.

The newly formed entity, resulting from the union of fine wine merchant Goedhuis & Co and Rothschild distributor Waddesdon Wine, has welcomed Burgundian producer Roche de Bellene and McLaren Vale-based Ox Hardy into its fold.

Helen Miller, commercial director at Goedhuis Waddesdon, expressed enthusiasm about these new signings, emphasizing that they exemplify the strategic goals set forth by the merger.

"We are thrilled to introduce these prestigious wines to our trade clients, including premium retailers, restaurants, and hotels," Miller stated. "Goedhuis & Co. has a longstanding reputation for curating exceptional wines for private clients, and now, with our expanded expertise, we are poised to bring these high-quality offerings to a broader audience."

Roche de Bellene, founded in 2008 by Nicolas Potel, is renowned for its diverse selection of Burgundies, ranging from regional wines to Grand Crus. Potel, who has collaborated with the Goedhuis & Co. team for some time, looks forward to further developing this partnership under the Goedhuis Waddesdon umbrella.

"Combining our experience and commitment to service is what drives me to cultivate a lasting relationship with Goedhuis Waddesdon," Potel remarked. "I am excited to share our wines with more Burgundy enthusiasts."

Ox Hardy, steeped in a rich winemaking heritage dating back to the late 1870s, brings its multi-generational expertise to Goedhuis Waddesdon. Located in McLaren Vale's Blewitt Springs, the 140-hectare estate showcases vineyards dating back to 1891. Andre 'Ox' Hardy, with over four decades of winemaking experience, focuses on crafting distinctive wines that reflect the terroir of the iconic Upper Tintara Vineyard, including their renowned Blewitt Springs Shiraz.

Hardy emphasized the importance of community and shared values in winemaking partnerships, underscoring his delight in extending their collaboration to Goedhuis Waddesdon’s broader clientele.

"In joining forces with Goedhuis Waddesdon, I am eager to expand our family's winemaking legacy and connect with a wider audience," Hardy shared.

Goedhuis Waddesdon, a newly formed entity integrating the strengths of Goedhuis & Co. and Waddesdon Wine, aims to become a dominant force in the wine industry. While currently operating under their original brands, the merger seeks to establish a unified presence in the market, serving as a premier destination for wine collectors, retailers, and hospitality establishments.

Chateau Lafite Rothschild retains a minority stake in the merged entity, highlighting its commitment to the continued success and growth of Goedhuis Waddesdon Limited.
