The 25 leading Italian wine companies, collectively part of the Italian Wine Consortium, boast a remarkable total turnover exceeding 1.5 billion euros and contribute significantly with a 15% share of the sector's exports.
These prominent companies, including Angelini Estates, Banfi, Bisol, Cà Maiol, Di Majo Norante, Diesel Farm, Drei Donà, Duca di Salaparuta, Ferrari Fratelli Lunelli, Gruppo Italiano Vini, Gruppo Mezzacorona, Le Monde, Librandi Antonio e Nicodemo, Lunae Bosoni, Marchesi di Barolo, Medici Ermete & Figli, Mesa, Santa Margherita Gruppo Vinicolo, Sartori di Verona, Tenimenti Leone, Terre de La Custodia, Terredora di Paolo, Torrevento, Zaccagnini, and Zonin1821, alongside Le Monde, founded in 1970 and revitalized by entrepreneur Alex Maccan in 2008, represent the rich viticultural landscape of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Under the visionary leadership of President Roberta Corrà, who serves as the General Director of Gruppo Italiano Vini (GIV), these companies have charted strategic and programmatic directions for the next three years, reaffirming her position until 2027. Backed by the expertise of two new vice-presidents, Andrea Sartori and Enrico Drei Donà, the consortium aims to consolidate its position as a powerhouse in the Italian wine industry.
Since its inception in 2009, Italia del Vino-Consorzio has played a pivotal role, boasting 15,000 hectares of vineyards across 18 Italian regions and employing over 3,500 individuals. With a significant investment exceeding EUR 100mn, the consortium has made substantial inroads into over 20 international markets.
Over the next three years, Italia del Vino-Consorzio is focused on key objectives centered around "market, training, and sustainability." President Corrà underscores the importance of teamwork in navigating the challenges facing the Italian wine sector, emphasizing the need to leverage change as an opportunity for growth.
