At Wine Paris, Franciacorta delivered more than a tasting — it delivered a statement.
The Lombardy-based denomination, entirely dedicated to Traditional Method sparkling wines, arrived with 30 wineries and a unified message: stability at home, expansion abroad, and a firmly premium identity.
President Emanuele Rabotti described Franciacorta as “the only Italian wine district focused solely on Classic Method sparkling wine,” underlining the uniqueness of the appellation within Italy’s diverse wine landscape.
Performance in 2025: A Solid Foundation
The 2025 data confirms a denomination navigating global uncertainty with resilience.
- Sales totaled 18.9 million bottles, down just 1% from 2024
- The average shelf price remained stable at €24.45
- Exports increased +5.3%, now accounting for 12.8% of total sales
In a year when many wine regions faced declining consumption and pricing pressure, Franciacorta preserved its premium price positioning — a key indicator of brand strength and market confidence.
Exports as the Growth Engine
While domestic sales held steady, exports delivered the most dynamic performance. The 5.3% increase reflects growing international awareness of Franciacorta’s quality and distinctiveness.
Paris was therefore a strategic choice. Showcasing Franciacorta in France — the birthplace of Champagne — sends a powerful message about confidence and maturity.
The presence of Italian institutional representatives reinforced the diplomatic and economic importance of the denomination’s international development.
Satèn: A Symbol of Identity
The celebration along the Seine, centered around Satèn, encapsulated Franciacorta’s identity. With its lower pressure and creamy texture, Satèn differentiates itself stylistically within the Classic Method universe, offering an alternative expression of elegance compared to Champagne.
This stylistic differentiation is increasingly crucial in competitive export markets.
Collective Growth and Vision
Rabotti emphasized the collective nature of Franciacorta’s success. The denomination’s growth has been built on producer cohesion, long-term investment, and shared strategic direction.
Thirty-five years ago, Franciacorta’s presence in Paris as a leading sparkling wine protagonist would have been unimaginable. Today, it represents the outcome of sustained vision and quality-driven development.
Future Perspective
With stable pricing, resilient sales, and expanding exports, Franciacorta enters 2026 from a position of strength. The challenge ahead lies in deepening export penetration while preserving exclusivity and premium perception.
The message from Paris is clear: Franciacorta is no longer emerging — it is established.
