Through visionary leadership and a robust entrepreneurial spirit, Italian wine producer Fantini Wines continues to carve its path across the global wine industry.
Recently, the group made a significant acquisition in Spain's Almansa region, purchasing the prestigious Venta la Vega winery. Nestled at the foothills of the legendary El Mugrón mountains, this acquisition marks a strategic move into one of Europe's largest single plantations of Garnacha Tintorera, boasting ancient vines and ideal terroir conditions.
Fantini Wines, renowned for its leadership in Southern Italy's export market, aims to amplify its presence in Spain, leveraging the region's competitive vineyard prices and promising market potential. The acquisition includes 60 hectares of land with expansion rights over an additional 180 hectares of premium vineyards. This strategic investment aligns with Fantini's ambitious goal to increase production tenfold within a decade, aiming to position its Spanish subsidiary, already home to the successful Finca Fella brand, as a cornerstone of its global operations.
"We are embarking on a development trajectory that was once unthinkable, focusing on maintaining and enhancing the high-quality standards our wines are known for," says Valentino Sciotti, founder and CEO of Fantini Wines.
The move underscores Fantini's commitment to sustainable growth and its unique approach to viticulture—partnering with local growers and embracing heroic agriculture—to produce exceptional wines.
The acquisition of Venta la Vega represents more than a strategic expansion; it signifies Fantini's dedication to fostering local economies and preserving centuries-old winemaking traditions. As Fantini continues to innovate and expand its portfolio, the Almansa region emerges as a new frontier for distinctive, high-quality wines that resonate globally.
