Enartis to Acquire Parsec: A Strategic Step Toward Integrated Winemaking Technologies

Florence, October 2025 — The Italian oenological technology company Enartis Srl has signed a preliminary agreement to acquire 100% of Parsec Srl, a Florence-based firm specializing in integrated control systems for the wine industry.

The transaction, which remains subject to the completion of legal formalities required under Italian law, represents a strategic move toward creating a comprehensive technology group capable of managing the entire winemaking process — from grape to bottle.

Strengthening Technological Integration in Winemaking

Enartis, part of the Esseco Group, is a recognized global supplier of advanced solutions and products for winemaking. With over two decades of experience, the company provides oenological additives, consulting services, and analytical tools to wineries in more than 50 countries across five continents, employing over 230 professionals in its 12 operational locations. Its product portfolio also extends to spirits, ciders, and low- or no-alcohol beverages, reflecting the growing diversification of the beverage industry.

The acquisition of Parsec Srl aligns with Enartis’ strategy of combining oenological expertise with process automation, reinforcing its commitment to research-driven innovation and customer-oriented service. This move follows Enartis’ 2023 acquisition of Winegrid, a Portuguese company specializing in smart sensors and digital monitoring systems for wineries, further consolidating its presence in the field of digital transformation for the wine sector.

Parsec: A Pioneer in Process Control and Automation

Founded in 1995 and headquartered in Sesto Fiorentino (Florence), Parsec Srl has become a reference point in automation and intelligent control systems for wineries. The company designs and installs turnkey systems that integrate micro-oxygenation, fermentation control, selective extraction, and real-time monitoring. Its patented technologies are used in more than 30 countries, making Parsec one of the key Italian players in applied wine technology.

Under the new agreement, Giuseppe Floridia, CEO of Parsec, will continue to lead the company alongside its existing management team. The goal is to preserve the company’s core scientific expertise while benefiting from Enartis’ global network and resources.

Creating a Comprehensive Platform for the Wine Industry

The integration between Enartis and Parsec will enable wineries to access a single, unified technological platform that merges advanced oenological solutions with process automation. This system will cover the entire production chain — from grape reception and fermentation management to maturation, bottling, and quality control.

According to Samuele Benelli, CEO of Enartis, the acquisition “brings together two companies with complementary expertise and a shared focus on customer service and innovation.” He added that the combination of Parsec’s engineering know-how and Enartis’ international presence will “open new opportunities and enhance competitiveness in the global market.”

Piermario Ticozzelli, Business Director at Enartis, highlighted the synergy between scientific innovation and operational efficiency that this acquisition will generate. “Together, we can deliver integrated and sustainable solutions that help wineries improve efficiency and quality while reducing environmental impact,” he said.

A Step Forward in Wine Industry Digitalization

For Giuseppe Floridia, the transaction represents a “natural evolution” for Parsec. He emphasized that both companies share a scientific and innovation-driven culture, and the merger will allow them to “offer technological tools for more measurable, traceable, and sustainable wine production.”

Once finalized, this acquisition will create one of the most comprehensive technology ecosystems in the wine industry, combining Enartis’ oenological science with Parsec’s engineering excellence. It also reflects a broader trend of digital transformation in winemaking, where automation, data analytics, and precision control are becoming essential components for quality, sustainability, and competitiveness.

Market Implications

If completed as expected, the Enartis–Parsec merger will reinforce Italy’s leadership in wine technology and applied oenology, offering integrated systems that appeal not only to traditional producers but also to modern wineries seeking digital optimization. Industry analysts view this move as a significant milestone in the ongoing evolution of the global wine supply chain, as producers increasingly look to automation and smart technologies to balance cost, quality, and sustainability.
