Champagne Laurent-Perrier, renowned as one of the world's most prestigious champagne houses, has achieved a remarkable milestone by receiving the Royal Warrant from King Charles III.
This prestigious honor establishes Laurent-Perrier as the official champagne supplier to the British Royal Family, marking the first time a Maison has attained this esteemed distinction.
Alexandra and Stéphanie de Nonancourt, family owners and members of the management board of Laurent-Perrier, expressed their gratitude, stating, "At Champagne Laurent-Perrier, we are deeply honoured to be granted the Royal Warrant from His Majesty the King. This accolade reaffirms our longstanding relationship with His Majesty which began when he visited Laurent-Perrier with Lord Mountbatten for the 'United World Colleges' with our father back in 1979."
In recognition of its quality and environmental responsibility, Laurent-Perrier was granted the Royal Warrant of HRH The Prince of Wales in 1998, a distinction it proudly carries to this day, remaining the only champagne house with this Royal Warrant. Maintaining its commitment to the Royal Family, Alexandra Pereyre de Nonancourt, representing Laurent-Perrier, presented The Prince of Wales with a special edition 70th birthday label at a Prince’s Trust dinner held at Buckingham Palace in 2018.
Laurent-Perrier history
The origins of Laurent-Perrier trace back to André-Michel Pierlot, a former cooper and bottler from Chigny-les-Roses, who settled in Tours-sur-Marne in 1812. Here, amidst the Grand Cru village intersecting three major vineyards, Pierlot founded what would evolve into Maison Laurent-Perrier. Succession led from Pierlot to his son Alphonse, who subsequently passed the reins to cellar master Eugène Laurent after Alphonse had no heirs. Upon Eugène's premature death in 1887, his widow Mathilde-Emilie Perrier assumed leadership, adding her surname to create Veuve Laurent-Perrier.
In 1889, under Mathilde-Emilie's guidance, Laurent-Perrier launched the "Grand Vin Sans Sucre," catering to her personal taste and that of British clientele. The lineage continued with Eugénie-Hortense Laurent and culminated in the stewardship of Bernard de Nonancourt post-World War II. A visionary and advocate of innovation, Nonancourt transformed Laurent-Perrier, fostering its global expansion and defining the brand's signature style of freshness, elegance, and purity.
Today, Laurent-Perrier remains a beacon of excellence under the leadership of its Executive Board, chaired by Stéphane Dalyac since 2014. The company's commitment to quality and innovation has solidified its position as a leader in the champagne industry, exporting to over 160 countries worldwide.
Listed on the Second Marché of the Paris Stock Exchange, Laurent-Perrier maintains its independence and upholds the values of perfection and elegance, guided by the dedication of its team and the expertise of its third Cellar Manager, Michel Fauconnet.
Fauconnet, who joined Laurent-Perrier in 1973 and rose through the ranks, embodies the commitment to craftsmanship and tradition that defines the house. As Cellar Master and Production Manager since 2004, Fauconnet oversees every aspect of wine production, ensuring each bottle reflects Laurent-Perrier's esteemed heritage and uncompromising standards.
From its founding in Tours-sur-Marne to earning the esteemed Royal Warrant under King Charles III, Champagne Laurent-Perrier has consistently epitomized excellence in the world of champagne. Guided by a tradition and quality, upheld by generations of dedicated leadership, Laurent-Perrier continues to set the standard for elegance and sophistication in every bottle.
