Highlights from Bacchus - Spain's Largest Wine Competition

Spain's most prestigious wine competition, Bacchus, has unveiled its highly anticipated list of medal winners, marking another milestone in the world of winemaking.

With a staggering 621 labels earning top honors out of nearly 2,000 entries, Bacchus reaffirms its status as the ultimate showcase of Ibero-American viticulture excellence.

The podium brims with Spanish triumphs, showcasing the country's rich tapestry of flavors and traditions. However, Bacchus goes beyond borders, spotlighting outstanding wines and spirits from across the Ibero-American world. From Mexico to Portugal, and even as far as Slovakia and Moldova, the diversity of talent on display underscores Bacchus' global reach and influence.

A standout among the winners are the 76 recipients of the coveted Grand Gold Bacchus awards, distinguished for their exceptional quality and craftsmanship. From Itsasmendi Artizar 2018 to Beronia Gran Reserva 1973, these wines represent the pinnacle of excellence, each deserving of its accolades.

Wineries from the Central and Eastern Europe have ranked high receiving great appreciations and rewards.

These champions not only excel in their respective categories but also garner recognition from esteemed organizations like the World Federation of Major Wine and Spirits Competitions (VINOFED).

In addition to individual accolades, Bacchus honors the visionaries behind the wines—the winemakers who elevate each sip into an unforgettable experience. José Hidalgo Togores, Joao Valduga, Victoria Frutos Climent, and Marcos Alguacil stand as paragons of excellence in their fields, their dedication and innovation setting new standards for the industry.

As Bacchus celebrates its twenty-second anniversary, the competition continues to evolve, embracing new categories such as wine-based spirits for the first time. Organized by the Spanish Tasters' Union, Bacchus has become a symbol of excellence and a testament to the enduring passion and creativity of the global winemaking community.
