Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris 2024: A Global Gathering of Resilience and Innovation

 

As the 5th edition of Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris concluded on February 14th, 2024, the wine and spirits industry celebrated its resilience and adaptability amid global economic challenges.

Unprecedented International Participation

This year's event marked a pivotal moment for the sector, with Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris showcasing sustainable economic momentum. The expo attracted an impressive 4,074 exhibitors, representing a 53% increase in international participation from 48 wine-producing countries. This diversity underscored the event's growing international influence and appeal.

Visitor numbers surged by 14%, reaching 41,253 attendees from 137 countries. Key markets such as Italy, Belgium, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Germany were prominently represented after France, highlighting the event's global reach and importance.

Driving Commercial Development

Vinexposium's commitment to fostering commercial opportunities was evident with a 30% increase in major buyer attendance from key markets. The innovative "matchmaking" service facilitated a record 10,146 online meetings between producers and buyers, creating substantial business opportunities and strengthening global connections.

High Patronage and International Presence

Under the esteemed patronage of Mr. Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris welcomed three ministers and 27 ambassadors from influential wine markets worldwide. The presence of officials such as Frank Riester, Secretary of State for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness, underscored the event's significance in promoting French wine and spirits exports on the global stage.

Embracing Innovation and Sustainability

The International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV), in collaboration with Vinexposium, played a crucial role in endorsing the scientific sessions of the ON! Program. This platform facilitated meaningful dialogues among international industry authorities, focusing on innovation, sustainability, and sectoral challenges.

The ON! and OFF programs enriched the event experience, offering 126 sessions and presentations at exhibitor stands. The OFF program extended networking opportunities to 200 selected venues across Paris, blending business discussions with social engagements in a relaxed setting.

Expanding Horizons with Be Spirits

Be Spirits, an integral part of Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris 2024, expanded its footprint significantly. The dedicated pavilion for spirits, non-alcoholic beverages, beers, and ciders welcomed participants from 26 countries, featuring nearly 200 exhibitors, 54% of whom were new entrants. The program included engaging debates and masterclasses, fostering collaboration and innovation across the beverage sector.

Looking Ahead

As Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris 2024 concluded, it set the stage for upcoming industry events over the next year. These include Vinexpo Asia in Hong Kong, Vinexpo America in New York, Vinexpo India in Mumbai, and the World Bulk Wine Exhibition (WBWE) in Amsterdam. These events promise continuous opportunities for growth, knowledge exchange, and networking within the global wine and spirits community.
