Wine tasting

Preferred white wines encompass a diverse range of styles, each offering its own unique charm and character. Between 17:00 and 18:00, the showroom was full of wine enthusiasts, gravitating towards varietals that showcase bright fruit flavors, refreshing acidity, and a harmonious balance. And I would like to present few vintages of high interest:

  • Weingut Hannes Edlinger, Grüner Veltliner Ried Galgenberg (2022): A delicate dry white wine; on the nose, yellow tropical fruit, a hint of pineapple and papaya; on the palate, fresh, mineral, medium-to-high acidity, with elegant and pepper note finish.
  • Weingut Wolfgang Seher, Grüner Veltliner Kapellenberg (2022): An elegant and complex dry white wine; on the nose, yellow fruits, ripe pear, dried fruits, white pepper; on the palate, fresh, mineral, good texture, with a long and pleasant aftertaste with note of pepper.
  • Weingut Setzer, Große Reserve Ried Laa (2022): A complex and strong dry white wine; on the nose, yellow apple and tropical fruits (banana); on the palate, very expressive, velvety, balanced on mineral and acidity. Elegant and fresh aftertaste.
  • Weingut Zull, Weites Land Cuvée blanc (2022): A pleasant dry white wine blend of Viognier, Riesling and Chardonnay; on the nose, an elegant bouquet of ripe fruits; on the palate, versatile and refreshing acidity, with a great and long finish.
  • Julius Klein, Grüner Veltliner Reserve Ried Steinberg (2022): An opulent and expressive dry white wine; on the nose, yellow fruits (pears, apple, peach), acacia; on the palate, fresh, elegant, complex and still developing, with a great pepper aftertaste.

Instead of conclusion

As Design Center Linz and Weinviertel Tourismus come together to host this spectacular wine fair, I've discovered few marvelous vintages from Weinviertel, their stories, their winery techniques. From family-owned estates to innovative cooperatives, each winery has a unique tale to tell, adding depth and character to every taste.

Enjoy it responsibly!
