Amsterdam Uncorked: A New Wine Event Launches June 30 to Connect Professionals and Consumers in the Netherlands

On Monday, June 30th, wine lovers and industry professionals will gather at the Postillion Hotel in Amsterdam for the first edition of Amsterdam Uncorked—a one-day event designed to showcase wines from both well-established and emerging regions.

Promoted by Pitch PR, the initiative responds to growing demand from international wine producers seeking direct exposure in the Dutch market, while also offering a streamlined, accessible format for busy trade professionals.

A Dual-Focus Event: Trade by Day, Public by Night

From 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Amsterdam Uncorked will welcome wine professionals only—including importers, sommeliers, retailers, chefs, buyers, and journalists—for free access upon registration. These hours are designed to provide a more focused environment for tastings, networking, and education, without the usual overcrowding of larger, multi-day trade fairs.

The public segment opens at 6:00 p.m. and runs until 9:00 p.m. Wine enthusiasts can purchase a €10 ticket, which includes four tasting tokens, granting access to explore a variety of wines and meet the producers directly. This format provides consumers with a rare opportunity to discover lesser-known wine regions in an engaging, educational setting.

75 Wineries, Global Reach

Amsterdam Uncorked will feature approximately 75 wineries and brands, covering a wide spectrum of terroirs and styles. Attendees can expect to taste and discover wines from classic regions like Alsace and Bordeaux, as well as emerging and often underrepresented areas such as Moldova and Ribera del Duero. Participants include:

  • Alsace: Domaine Paul Ginglinger, Domaine Bader, Alliance Alsace
  • Bordeaux: Château Roquefort, Château Batailley, Château Trottevieille
  • South Africa: Boland Kelder, Eikendal Winery, Doran Family Vintners
  • Italy: Villa Erbice (Veneto), Estasi Vini, Tenuta de Maio (Puglia), Montina Franciacorta (Lombardy)
  • Spain: Around 30 producers from Ribera del Duero
  • Moldova: Several up-and-coming wineries
  • Netherlands: A handful of local Dutch producers

Masterclasses, Tastings, and Wine Expertise

The event will open with a ceremony led by Master of Wine Cees van Casteren, followed by a panel discussion on trends and challenges in the global wine industry. Throughout the day, attendees can participate in masterclasses on a first-come, first-served basis, covering topics such as:

  • Alsatian wines
  • Moldovan wines
  • High-altitude wines from Ribera del Duero

In the late afternoon and evening, the spotlight turns to “Best of Ribera del Duero”, hosted by renowned Dutch wine writer Harold Hamersma. This special segment will include three brief masterclasses and a blind tasting where attendees vote on their favorite wines from this iconic Spanish region.

A Boutique Wine Showcase with International Intent

With 150 expected attendees, Amsterdam Uncorked aims for quality over quantity. Organizers stress the value of face-to-face contact between wine producers and the professionals and consumers who influence purchasing decisions. The event is crafted to support emerging wine countries, increase wine awareness in the Netherlands, and offer an alternative to the increasingly crowded international wine calendar.

For wine professionals, this is a rare opportunity to discover new portfolios and deepen existing connections. For consumers, it’s a chance to broaden palates and taste across borders—all in one well-curated evening.

The full masterclass program and registration details are available on the event’s official website: amsterdamuncorked.nl. Early registration is recommended due to limited space.
